ORANGE ROLLS
2 c. milk
4 tbsp. shortening
4 tbsp. sugar
2 tsp. salt
2 cakes or 2 pkg. yeast
1/2 c. lukewarm water
2 eggs
7 c. flour

Sometimes I squeeze the juice from the 2 oranges and put in the dough. Gives it an extra orange flavor. Will need a little more flour.

Warm milk, shortening, sugar and salt to lukewarm. Add yeast softened in water. Add eggs. Gradually stir in flour to form soft dough, beat vigorously. Cover and let rise in double in bulk. Turn out on lightly floured surface (divide in half). Roll in oblong to 1/2 inch thick.

Combine 1 cup sugar, 1/2 cup butter and grated rind of 2 oranges. Spread half over rolled dough then roll up and cut. Place in buttered cookie sheet and let rise until double. Bake in 350 degree oven for 25 minutes. Makes 3 dozen rolls.
