CZECHOSLOVAK NUT ROLL 
1 cake fresh yeast
1/2 c. lukewarm water or milk
1 c. cream
1 c. butter (half shortening if desired)
1/4 c. sugar
3 eggs
4 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. salt

Dissolve yeast in lukewarm milk. To this add cream. Sift the flour and salt into a large mixing bowl. Cream the butter and sugar, add it to flour, working it with your hands until it is a crumbly texture. Add yeast mixture and eggs (one at a time) and work dough until smooth and elastic. Cover with waxed paper and put in refrigerator overnight. Cut dough in four equal parts. Roll out very thin on floured board. Spread on filling and roll like a jelly roll. Put in greased pan, cover with cloth and let stand for 1 hour. Bake at 350 degrees for 50 minutes.

FILLING:

4 c. walnuts (ground)
1 c. granulated sugar
2 tsp. butter (melted)
1/2 c. milk
1 egg (beaten)
1 tsp. vanilla

Warm milk, add nuts, sugar, butter and then the beaten egg. Add vanilla. Stir all together to make a thin paste. Spread the filling on the dough and roll like a jelly roll.
