WILTED LETTUCE SPINACH SALAD 
4 to 6 sliced bacon
1 sm. head lettuce
1/2 lb. washed spinach
2 green onions, sliced
1 tbsp. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
4 tbsp. cider vinegar
2 tbsp. water
Crisp croutons

Cut bacon in pieces and fry until crisp. Reserve drippings. Wash lettuce and tear in pieces. Remove stems from spinach and combine with lettuce. Add onions. Cover and refrigerate until just before serving. Add sugar, salt, pepper, vinegar, water, and bacon dripping. Set aside until ready to serve. Bring dressing mix to boil. Stir and pour over lettuce. Toss. Sprinkle with bacon bits. Sprinkle with croutons and serve immediately.
