WHOOPIE PIES 
CAKE:

1/2 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
1 egg
1 c. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
2 c. flour
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 c. cocoa
1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. baking powder

FILLING:

1 c. shortening
2 c. confectioners sugar
2 c. marshmallow fluff
1 tsp. vanilla

Cream shortening and sugar, add vanilla, egg and milk; beat until smooth. Sift together flour, salt, cocoa, soda and baking powder. Add to creamed mixture. Drop a teaspoonful and spread with back of spoon to make a small pie on baking sheet covered with aluminum foil. Bake at 425 degrees for 7 minutes. I spray with Pam. Remove from foil immediately to cool.

Filling: Whip shortening with confectioner's sugar until smooth. Blend in marshmallow fluff and vanilla. Thin with a few drops of milk if necessary. Spread between pies. Makes approximately 24 pies.
