2 lb. beef round steak 3 tbsp. flour 1/2 tsp. salt 1/4 tsp. pepper 2 tbsp. oil 2 medium onions, sliced 2 celery ribs, chopped 1 (16 oz.) can tomatoes with liquid, cut up 2 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce 1/4 tsp. dried oregano Cut 1 1/2 pounds tenderized round steak into small pieces. Season and flour. Brown a small amount of water. When all are browned, cover steak with water and simmer 45 minutes to 1 hour. While steak is simmering, grate 1 1/2 cups Velveeta or American cheese. Stir cheese into steak and gravy. Simmer about 15 minutes more. Serve over rice or with mashed potatoes. |
