BUTTERMILK CHOCOLATE CAKE 
2 c. flour
2 c. sugar
1 stick butter
1/2 c. Crisco (or 1 stick butter)
4 tbsp. cocoa
1 c. water
2 eggs
1/2 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. baking soda

FROSTING (ICING) :

1 cube butter
3 tbsp. cocoa
1/3 c. buttermilk
1 box powdered sugar
1 tsp. vanilla

Sift flour and sugar together. Heat to a boil: 2 sticks butter, 4 tablespoon cocoa and water. Pour over sugar and flour. Blend eggs, buttermilk, vanilla and soda. Add this mixture to other and mix together well. Pour into greased 9 x 13 inch pan. Bake at 400 degrees for 20 minutes.

Five minutes before cake is done: Melt 1 cube butter, 1/3 cup buttermilk, 3 tablespoons cocoa, 1 box powdered sugar (mix xxx sugar in gradually), 1 teaspoon vanilla. Bring to boil and pour over hot cake and spread.
