GROUND MEAT CASSEROLE 
1 lb. ground meat
1 lg. onion, chopped
2 tbsp. shortening or oil
1 #2 can tomatoes, drained
1/2 lb. macaroni, cooked & drained
Salt to taste
Chili powder to taste
1/2-1 c. grated or shredded American cheese

Saute in skillet, ground meat and chopped onion until meat loses its pink color. Add drained tomatoes, mix well with meat, season with salt and chili powder. Simmer 10 minutes.

Meanwhile cook macaroni, drain. In casserole place macaroni and meat sauce in layers. Top with grated cheese. Put in oven at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Top with grated cheese and place back into oven for 30 minutes or until cheese is melted.
