DEB'S EASY APPLE CRISP 
8 to 10 apples, peeled and sliced
2 cups brown sugar
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 1/2 cups rolled oats
1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1 1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1 cup shortening (I use butter flavored Crisco)

Preheat oven to 375°F. Fill 9x13-inch baking pan with peeled and sliced apples. Mix remaining ingredients thoroughly. Sprinkle over apples.

Bake at 375°F for 30 to 40 minutes or until apples are tender and topping browns. Serve warm.

Makes about 12 to 14 servings.
