FRUIT COCKTAIL CAKE 
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 eggs
1/2 c. cooking oil
2 c. plain flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. baking powder
1 can fruit cocktail

FROSTING:

1 stick butter
1 c. sugar
3 egg yolks
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. canned milk
1 c. nuts
1 1/3 c. coconut

Beat sugar, eggs and oil until well blended. Add fruit cocktail with syrup. Sift together dry ingredients and add to liquid mixture gently. Grease bottom of long sheet pan. Pour in batter and bake at 350 degrees, about 15 minutes.

Spread still hot cake with following frosting.

Mix 1 stick butter, 1 cup sugar, 3 egg yolks, 1 teaspoon vanilla, and 1 cup canned milk. Cook for 12 minutes, until thick. Remove from heat, add 1 cup nuts and 1 1/3 cup coconut. Spread over hot cake.
