FRUIT COCKTAIL CAKE 
2 eggs
1 1/2 c. white sugar
2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1 can fruit cocktail
1/2 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. chopped nuts

Mix eggs and white sugar; set aside. Sift flour, salt, soda, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Add to egg and sugar mixture with can of fruit cocktail. Do not drain fruit cocktail. Pour into greased pan.

Mix brown sugar and nuts. Sprinkle on top of cake. Bake 45 minutes at 300 degrees. Make sauce while cake is baking.

SAUCE:

1/2 c. white sugar
1 stick butter
2/3 c. milk
1 tsp. vanilla

Boil 2 minutes. Pour over cake while cake and sauce are still warm. Can be served warm or cold.
