HIDDEN FROSTING BARS 
1/2 c. butter or shortening
1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese
1 1/2 c. brown sugar, packed
3 eggs, unbeaten
1 tsp. vanilla
1 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tbsp. salt
1/4 tsp. baking soda
1 c. chopped nuts

Cream together the butter, 1/2 package of cream cheese and gradually add 1/2 cup brown sugar. Add the unbeaten eggs and vanilla. Sift together and add 1 1/2 cups flour, baking powder, salt and soda. Blend in 3/4 cup chopped nuts. Pour half of the batter in a 13"x9" greased pan lightly floured. Cream together the remaining 1/2 package cream cheese and 1/2 cup brown sugar, spread over the batter and sprinkle top with remaining 1/4 cup chopped nuts. Bake at 350 degrees for 25 to 35 minutes. Cut when cool.
