OLD FASHIONED CHOCOLATE PIE 
3 egg yolks, beaten
1 tbsp. butter
dash of salt
1 tbsp. vanilla
1 baked pastry shell
2 egg whites, beaten stiff

Cook first 5 ingredients, stirring constantly until thick. Add butter, salt and vanilla; stir well. Pour into pastry shell. Top with meringue and bake until golden brown.

Meringue:

2 egg whites
6 tsp. sugar

Place egg whites in mixing bowl; beat until it stands in peaks. Fold in sugar gradually. Cover pie filling and peak with back of spoon.

Bake in preheated 350°F oven until brown.
