DATE APRICOT BREAD 
2 c. sifted flour
4 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. packed light brown sugar
1 c. ready to eat bran
1 egg
1 1/4 c. buttermilk
1/4 c. butter, melted
1/2 c. prepared dried apricots - cover with boiling water - drain.
1/2 c. sliced pitted dates
1/2 c. chopped walnuts

Sift the flour, baking powder, soda and salt together. Stir in sugar and bran.

Beat egg until lemon colored, stir in buttermilk and butter. Add dry ingredients, stir just until moistened. Fold in apricots, dates and walnuts.

Bake in greased 9x5x3 pan, 350 degrees, 1 hour or until tester comes out clean. Cool, slice 1/4 inch thick.
