FRIED MUSH 
3 c. boiling water
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. cornmeal

Bring to boil 3 cups water and 1 1/2 teaspoons salt. Add a mixture of 1 cup cornmeal and 1 cup cold water gradually, stirring constantly, until mixture is thickened. Cover, lower heat, and cook slowly 10 minutes or longer.

Pour hot cornmeal mush into a well oiled loaf pan. Cover and chill thoroughly. Remove from mold; cut into slices about 1/2 inch thick. Dip into flour and fry on both sides until nicely browned. Serve with ketchup or Karo syrup.
