CHRISTMAS WREATH COOKIES
40 marshmallows
1 stick butter
1 tsp. vanilla
3 tsp. green food color
4 c. corn flakes
Red hots

Melt stick butter, slowly. Add marshmallows to melted butter. Melt marshmallows slowly; add vanilla and green food color. When mixture is consistent "goo", gradually add corn flakes, taking care to cover flakes with the green mixture.

Put in wreath shape (approximately 1 1/2" x 1 1/2") on wax paper while still hot. Add 3 or 4 red hots as "holly", while still hot or they won't stick to cookies. Let them get solid about 1/2 hour (unrefrigerated) before serving.

NOTE: These taste just like Rice Krispie treats but look very festive. My mother used to make dozens of kinds of cookies, intricate, time consuming ones, but these easy wreath cookies were the biggest hit!

Thank you for this recipe! My mom used to make these for us when I was a kid. I know make them for my friends and family! I couldn't remember how to make them so I looked it up and found this. This is the exact recipe I was looking for! thank you again!

These turned out awesome! And it was fun for the kids to help. I would not suggest having them form the wreath shape because the goo gets super hot! They can help count out marshmallows, stir the goo and then add the red hots.

instead of red hots we use candied cherries (kind you use for fruit cake), cut in half and placed in center of a "wreath".
