BREAD PUDDING WITH APPLES AND
RAISINS
 
6 slices white bread
3 tbsp. butter
1/2 c. sugar
1 c. diced apples
2/3 c. raisins
1/4 tsp. each: cinnamon, nutmeg and salt
3 eggs
1/2 c. brown sugar
3/4 c. milk

1. Toast bread lightly, cut into cubes, place in buttered 6 cup baking dish.

2. Heat milk, add butter until it melts. Pour over bread, let stand 1/2 hour.

3. Beat eggs. Add sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt, apples and raisins. Pour over bread mixture. Stir.

4. Bake at 300 degrees for 45 minutes or until apples are tender. Serve with cream, whipped cream or ice cream. Serves 6.
