1 c. lard
1 c. white sugar
1 egg
5 tbsp. milk
A little salt
3 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. nutmeg

Beat together lard and white sugar until creamy. Add egg, milk and salt. Mix well. Stir in mixture of flour, soda, vanilla and nutmeg. Form into balls and press with the bottom of a sugared glass. Bake at 350 degrees until slightly brown, approximately 10 minutes.
