4 1/2 c. white sugar
2 c. lard
4 well beaten eggs
1/2 pt. dark Karo
1/2 pt. water
3 tbsp. baking soda
3 tsp. baking powder
1 tbsp. vanilla
4 c. chopped nuts
2 lbs. chopped dates
4 c. chopped nuts
13 c. flour, measure before sifting

Mix baking powder and soda in with flour. Mix, pat in shallow pan as thin as possible and brush with cream before putting in oven. Bake at 375 degrees for 15 to 20 minutes. Cut into squares. Lay apart to cool.
