1 c. butter 1 c. light brown sugar 1 egg 2 c. flour 1/4 tsp. salt 1/4 tsp. baking soda 1/4 c. buttermilk 1 tsp. vanilla 3/4 c. candied pineapple, chopped 3/4 c. candied cherries, chopped 1 c. raisins (white) 1 box dates, chopped 1 c. nuts, chopped Cream butter and sugar; add egg. Beat well. Sift flour, salt and soda together. Add vanilla to buttermilk. Add flour mixture to first mixture alternately with milk. Add fruit and nuts that have been dredged with 2 tablespoons flour. Drop with teaspoon onto a greased cookie sheet. Bake at 300 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes. Yield: 12 dozen. |
