ROUND STEAK SAUERBRATEN 
1 1/2 lbs. round steak, 1/2 inch thick
1 env. brown gravy mix
1 tbsp. instant minced onion
1 tbsp. brown sugar
2 tbsp. wine vinegar
1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
1/4 tsp. ground ginger
1 bay leaf
Hot buttered noodles

Cut meat into 1 inch squares. Brown meat in 1 tablespoon hot shortening. Remove meat from skillet; add gravy mix and 2 cups water. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly. Stir in next 6 ingredients, 1/2 teaspoon salt, and 1/4 teaspoon pepper. Add meat. Turn into 1 1/2 quart casserole. Cover. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 1/2 hours. Remove bay leaf. Serve over noodles. Makes 5-6 servings.
