BUBBLE RING 
3/4 c. milk
1/4 c. sugar
3 tbsp. shortening
1 tsp. salt
1/4 c. warm water
1 pkg. yeast
3 1/2 c. flour
2 sticks butter (1 c.)
3/4 c. brown sugar

Preheat oven 400 degrees.

Scald milk, shortening, sugar and salt together. Dissolve yeast in 1/4 cup warm water. Add to first mixture. Mix in flour until stiff dough.

Melt butter, pour small amount in bottom of greased tube pan. Sprinkle bottom of pan with brown sugar.

Form dough into small balls and place in layers in pan. Save remainder of melted butter and brown sugar. Bake 20 to 30 minutes. Remove from pan and pour remainder of butter and brown sugar over it. Eat by breaking off one ball at a time.

Variations: Serve with melted butter to dip balls in. Dribble confectioners' sugar frosting over bubble ring.
