RHODE ISLAND DOUGHBOYS
Thaw 4 or 5 pounds frozen bread dough and let it rise overnight in covered bowl in a warm place.

Tear off pieces and spread them with your hands to make a thin flat circle about the size of a large saucer. Deep fry one at a time in hot vegetable oil until golden brown on both sides. Drain on paper towels. Shake in paper bag of granulated sugar while still hot.

OMG! Memories that have come back. Mr. Pizza on Broadway in Pawtucket. Mom would treat us to doughboys once a week using a bag of dough from Mr. Pizza (50 cents for the bag) and we would stand by the stove with her while she would tear off pieces of dough and stretch it out, drop into hit grease and cook to alight golden color. Drop them in a brown bag with sugar and shake. She couldn't make them fast enough. Delicious!
