POPPY SEED CAKE 
6 eggs
1 c. shortening
3 c. sugar
1 c. buttermilk
3 c. flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. butter extract
1 tsp. lemon extract
1 tsp. almond extract
1 tsp. orange extract
1 tbsp. poppy seed, soaked in 1/4 c. milk overnight

Beat egg whites until stiff; set aside. Combine egg yolks in large bowl with shortening and sugar. Cream well. Add soaked poppy seeds, soda, baking powder and all extracts to the buttermilk. Alternately add flour with liquid mix to creamed ingredients. Fold in egg whites. Bake in greased and dusted tube pan at 350 degrees for 1 hour 15 minutes.

GLAZE:

1 1/2 c. powdered sugar
3 tbsp. orange marmalade
1 tsp. almond extract
1/2 c. orange juice
1 tsp. butter extract
1 tsp. orange extract

Blend glaze until smooth and pour over hot cake.
