SUGAR COOKIES 
3 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1 1/4 c. sugar
1 c. shortening
3 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla

Sift dry ingredients together. Add shortening, unbeaten eggs and vanilla. Blend well. Spoon onto cookie sheet. Use the bottom of an oiled drinking glass to pat on sugar. Pour small amount of corn oil into a small bowl. Pour colored or white sugar into small bowl of like size. Alternately dip the glass bottom into the oil, then sugar, then pat onto the cookies. Sugar may be substituted by decorative candies. Bake until light brown at 325 degrees.
