TEXAS CORNBREAD 
1 c. cornmeal
1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
1 1/2 tbsp. sugar
1 c. buttermilk
1/2 c. sweet milk
1 egg
1 tbsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/4 c. oil
1 sm. can corn

Before mixing batter, put dry cast iron skillet in hot oven (500 degrees). Mix 1 cup cornmeal, 1/2 cup flour, 1 teaspoon sugar thoroughly. Add rest of ingredients. Take skillet out of oven and oil. Add batter. It will start frying immediately, producing a great crust. Bake at 450 degrees for 30 minutes.
