CANDIED FRUIT SQUARES | |
6 tbsp. butter 1 1/2 c. graham cracker crumbs 1 (4 oz.) can shredded coconut 1 lb. diced mixed candied fruit 1 c. diced dates Flour, about 2 tbsp. 1 1/4 c. coarsely chopped pecans 1 (14 oz.) can sweetened condensed milk, no substitute Melt butter in a 15 1/2 x 10 1/2 x 1 inch jelly roll pan. Sprinkle on crumbs; tap sides of pan to distribute crumbs evenly. Sprinkle on coconut. Distribute candied fruit as evenly as possibly over coconut. Cut dates into a small amount of flour so they won't stick together. Distribute floured dates over candied fruit. Sprinkle on nuts. Press mixture lightly with hands to level it in pan. Now pour the sweetened condensed milk evenly over the top. Bake in 350 degree oven for 25-35 minutes. Cool completely in pan on wire rack before cutting in 1 1/2 inch squares. Remove from pan. Makes 70 squares. |
