2 c. white sugar 1 c. Crisco 1 tsp. vanilla 1 c. sour milk 1 c. boiling water 1 c. cocoa 2 eggs 2 tsp. baking soda 1 tsp. salt 4 1/2 c. flour FILLING: 2 egg whites 1 c. Crisco 2 tsp. vanilla 3 tbsp. milk 1/2 c. flour (sifted) 10x confectioners' sugar Cream sugar and Crisco. Add eggs, milk and vanilla. Beat well. Mix cocoa and hot water in separate bowl until smooth. Add this to mixture. Blend well, sift soda, salt and flour. Add this a little at a time, blending well. Drop by teaspoons on a cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes. When cool put filling on a cookie and top with another. Filling: Beat egg whites until stiff. Add Crisco and vanilla. Blend. Add milk, then add flour and 10x sugar until smooth and thick. |
