SALTED PEANUT CHEWS 
1 pkg. Pillsbury Plus yellow cake mix
1/3 c. butter, softened
1 egg
3 c. miniature marshmallows

TOPPING:

2/3 c. corn syrup
1/4 c. butter
2 tsp. vanilla
12 oz. pkg. (2 c.) peanut butter chips
2 c. Crisp Rice cereal
2 c. salted or unsalted peanuts

Heat oven to 350 degrees. In large bowl, combine all base ingredients except marshmallows. Beat at low speed until crumbly. Press into bottom of an ungreased 13 x 9 inch pan.

Bake for 12-18 minutes or until light golden brown. Remove from oven and immediately sprinkle with marshmallows. Return to oven for 1-2 minutes or until marshmallows begin to puff. Cool while preparing the topping.

In large saucepan heat corn syrup, butter, vanilla and chips, until chips are melted and mixture is smooth, stirring constantly. Remove from heat, stir in cereal and nuts. Immediately spoon warm topping over marshmallows. Spread evenly. Chill; cut into bars. Store in covered containers. Makes 36 bars.
