DELMONICO POTATOES 
7-8 med. potatoes
Boiling water, with a little salt
1 stick butter
6 tbsp. flour
2 1/2 c. milk
1/2 c. half & half or coffee cream
1/2 tsp. seasoned salt
1/4 tsp. herb pepper
1 c. grated sharp Cheddar cheese
2 tbsp. butter
1/2 c. fine, dry bread crumbs

Peel and dice potatoes. Boil in lightly salted water; about 10 minutes, do not overcook.

Drain potatoes and put into 2 quart buttered casserole dish.

In medium saucepan melt stick of butter and blend in the flour. Gradually add milk, half & half, stirring constantly. heat to boiling, season with the salt and pepper. Pour over potatoes, top with grated cheese.

Melt remaining butter; stir in bread crumbs, mixing until blended. Sprinkle buttered crumbs over casserole. Bake in preheated 400 degree oven until cheese melts and casserole is bubbly, about 25-30 minutes.
