“CORN BREAD” IS IN:
NEXT RECIPE:  CORN BREAD STUFFING

CORN BREAD 
3/4 cup corn meal
3/4 cup all-purpose flour
3 teaspoons baking powder
1 tablespoon sugar
1/3 teaspoon salt
1 beaten egg
3/4 cup milk and water mixed (1/2 each)
2 tablespoons melted bacon drippings

In a large bowl, combine all ingredients in the order listed. Beat well, and bake in a well-greased shallow pan in a preheated 425°F oven for about twenty minutes or until a wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean.

Left-over pieces may be split, lightly buttered, and browned in the oven. These can be used as a stuffing or as croutons.
