CHERRY PUDDING 
1 pt. sour cherries
1 c. sugar
1 tbsp. butter
1 c. flour
1/2 c. sugar
1 tbsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 c. milk
1 c. boiling water

Put a cup of sugar over the cherries and let stand while you make the batter. Cream butter and 1/2 cup sugar. Sift in dry ingredients. Add milk and stir well. Pour batter in buttered baking dish, add cherries, and cover with boiling water. The batter will come to the top during baking. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes or until brown. Other fruits may be used in place of cherries.
