POPPY SEED COOKIES 
1 c. butter
1 c. sugar
1 egg
1/2 c. chopped nuts
1/2 c. poppy seeds
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. ginger
1 tsp. vanilla
1/4 tsp. salt
2 1/4 c. flour

Cream butter, sugar, eggs, and vanilla. Stir in nuts and poppy seeds. Add flour and salt, ginger and cinnamon. Form dough into a roll about 2 inches in diameter. Wrap in wax paper and chill. Bake at 350 degrees for 12 minutes, cut 1/4 inch thick.
