DUTCH BISCUITS | |
1 c. bread dough 1 c. warm water 1 tbsp. lard 1/2 c. sugar Flour Cut bread dough into little pieces about the size of a walnut. Drop the pieces of dough into the warm water. Add the lard and sugar. Mix well. Then gradually add enough flour to make the consistency of bread dough. Work it well and set aside to rise (about 5 to 6 hours). Then pinch off little biscuit like portions and mold on baking pans. Cover with a towel and set aside to rise. For delicious hot biscuits for breakfast, let rise all night and bake in the morning. For hot biscuits for evening dinner, let rise all day and bake. For extra browning brush tops very lightly with milk before baking at 375. |
