AUNT ELSIE'S MERBADIECH (TENDER DOUGH) | |
1 lb. butter 4 tbsp. sugar 4 egg yolks 4 c. flour (unsifted) Fruit to cover (prune plums, peaches or apples) Mix first 4 ingredients together; dough will be sticky. Press dough into cookie sheet (about 1/4 inch thick). Slice fruit into wedges (bigger than pie wedges, about 1/2 inch thick). Place fruit in rows with slight overlap. Sprinkle with brown sugar and cinnamon (sprinkle juicy fruit also with 1 teaspoon tapioca). Bake at 350 degrees until fruit is tender, about 30 minutes. |
