CHINESE CHEWEYS 
3/4 c. flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 c. sugar
1/4 tsp. salt
1 c. chopped dates
1 c. chopped pecans
2 eggs

Combine dry ingredients and add dates and nuts. Beat eggs and add to dry ingredients. Pour into greased and floured square 8 x 8 inch cake pan. Bake for 20 minutes in preheated 350 degree oven. When touched in the center it will still be very soft.

Allow to cool until they can be handled easily. Cut into 1 inch squares, then roll into balls. Roll in confectioners' sugar and store in tight container. Keeps well for several weeks.
