FRESH APPLE CAKE 
2 c. sugar
3 eggs
1 1/2 wesson oil (or any kind)
3 c. all purpose flour
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. allspice
3 c. chopped apples
1 c. raisins
1 c. black walnuts
1 tsp. vanilla

Cream together sugar, eggs and oil. Sift together flour, salt, soda and allspice. Pour into sugar mixture and beat well. Stir in the chopped apples, raisins, black walnuts, and vanilla. Turn into greased and floured tube pan.

Bake at 325°F for 1 1/2 hours or until done.

Icing:

1 stick butter
1 c. brown sugar
1/4 c. milk

Mix ingredients in a saucepan and bring to a boil. Boil 2 1/2 minutes, stirring constantly. Pour over cake while hot and still in the pan.
