KLUSKI I KAPUSTA 
28 oz jar sauerkraut
1 large onion
1 cup butter
1 bag noodles (kluski)
cottage cheese

Cook sauerkraut with water in sauce pan for 30 minutes. While cooking, melt 1/2 cup butter in large frying pan. Chop large onion and add to butter till soft - don't let butter turn brown.

Drain sauerkraut and squeeze out excess water - until almost dry. Chop and add to butter and onion in large frying pan and add another 1/2 cup butter.

Cook noodles as directed on package and drain. Add to onion, butter, and sauerkraut in the large frying pan and heat thoroughly.

You may want to add more butter. Serve in soup bowl and top with cottage cheese.

My Ukrainian family has a similar recipe, however we always served with sour cream rather than the cheese. Yummy!!!
