RAISED WAFFLES 
1/2 c. warm water
1 pkg. dry yeast
1 tbsp. sugar
1/2 c. butter, melted
1/4 tsp. baking soda
2 c. milk
1 tsp. salt
2 c. flour
2 eggs, beaten

Mix together in a large bowl the warm water, milk, and yeast. Let stand for 5 minutes. Add salt, sugar, and flour; mix well. Cover and let stand overnight at room temperature. Beat together the melted butter, beaten eggs, and soda; add to yeast mixture. Batter will be very thin. This can be kept overnight in refrigerator. Have waffle iron hot and bake until medium brown. Bake 1/2 of this recipe for 2 people. Do use a full package of yeast if halving the recipe.
