YO-YO COOKIES 
1/2 c. shortening (or half butter, softened)
1/2 c. peanut butter
1/2 c. granulated sugar
1/2 c. brown sugar, packed
1 egg
1 1/4 c. all-purpose flour
3/4 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt

Blend ingredients. Cover and chill. Shape dough into 3/4 inch balls. Place about 2 inches apart on lightly greased baking sheet. Do not flatten. Bake at 375 degrees for 8-10 minutes or until set, but not hard. When cool, put cookies together in pairs with jam or jelly.
