HOLIDAY SALAD | |
1 reg. pkg. red Jello (SF) 1 reg. pkg. lime Jello (SF) 1 med. can chunk pineapple, drained 1 lg. can dark sweet cherries, drained 1 to 1 1/2 c. Cheddar cheese, 1 inch cube (use as much or as little - mild, med. sharp up to you) 1 pt. whipping cream Use Nutri-Sweet spoonful sweet to taste or use Cool Whip with Nutri-Sweet SF=Sugar Free Jello Pineapple in own juice Rinse cherries good to reduce sugar syrup Set Jello out in separate shallow dishes when set and ready to serve. Cut into cubes. (Tip: Spray pan with cooking spray, makes easy to remove.) Use flat spatula to remove from pan. Cut pineapple chunks to bite size, drain well. Pit cherries and cut in half - drain well. Cube cheese. Combine the above in large bowl - do not mix - refrigerate. When ready to serve, fold in whipped cream or Cool Whip carefully, only enough to mix cream through the ingredients. Serve immediately, either in large salad bowl or individual serving bowls. Serves 8-10, 1/2 cup servings. Note: Our family uses this at Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners. But by changing the color of the Jello could be used for any holiday occasion. |
