TERRIFIC SAUERKRAUT 
2 (#1) cans sauerkraut
2 lg. onions, chopped
1 stalk celery, chopped
2 cloves garlic, chopped
2 tbsp. chopped parsley
1 can chicken broth
3 slices of bacon, chopped

If you like, you can add about 1 pound cubed pork to above.

Rinse sauerkraut (to get brine or salt out). Saute onions in bacon, which has been chopped. If you're adding pork to this, add to onions and bacon and saute until no longer pink, then add celery, garlic, and parsley; saute everything together, then add 2 cans of rinsed sauerkraut. Add 1 can chicken broth and do not stir for about an hour. Cook very slowly (low heat so it doesn't burn).
