STEAMED CABBAGE 
1/2 head cabbage, sliced & chopped, lg. pieces
2 slices bacon, cut in sm. pieces
1/2 onion, chopped
1/2 c. water

In large skillet, add bacon pieces, as they begin to brown, add onion and let it soften. Add cabbage and stir while cabbage begins to brown. Add water, reduce to medium-low, cover with lid and let cook 5 to 8 minutes. Serves 4.

SERVING SUGGESTION: Cornbread, red beans, fried taters, and hot pepper salad!
