COLONIAL TRIFLE 
1 (14 oz.) can fruit cocktail
1 tbsp. plain gelatin
1 c. heavy cream
1 (3 1/2 oz.) pkg. vanilla pudding (not instant)
2 tbsp. lemon juice
10 lg. lady fingers

Drain fruit cocktail. Mix syrup, pudding mix, and gelatin together. Cook and stir over medium heat until mixture boils. Remove from heat and add lemon juice and fruit. Cool until mixture starts to set, reserving 1/4 cup for garnish. Whip cream and fold into fruit mixture. Split lady fingers and cut enough of them to line (rounded side out) the side of an 8 inch spring-form pan. Pour in fruit mixture carefully. Garnish with reserved mixture. Chill thoroughly.
