WHOLE WHEAT FRENCH BREAD 
1 pkg. active yeast
2 c. whole wheat flour
1 1/2 c. bread flour
2 tsp. salt
1 1/2 tsp. sugar
1 1/2 tsp. oil
1 egg
1 1/2 c. warm water (hot to the touch)

Bread machine: Put yeast in. Add dry ingredients in layers. Add wet ingredients. Start.

Manual: Active yeast in warm water. Pour into dry ingredients. Knead until workable and elastic, about 10-15 minutes. Let rest and rise in towel covered bowl, in warm draft free spot about 30 minutes.
