HARRISON'S OATMEAL SCRAPPLE 
3/4 lb. sausage meat
1 onion, chopped
2 c. water
1/3 c. cornmeal
1 c. quick-cooking oats
1 tsp. sage
1/4 tsp. pepper

Brown the sausage and drain off the fat. Add onion and cook 1 minute. Add water and remaining ingredients. Bring to boil and simmer until very thick, about 20 minutes, stirring the whole time. Turn into a loaf pan and chill.

When set, turn out and slice. Roll pieces in flour or fine bread crumbs and fry on a greased griddle until brown.
