KELLY'S DATE NUT BREAD 
3/4 c. chopped nuts
1 c. chopped dates
1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
Dash salt
3 tbsp. butter
3/4 c. boiling water
2 eggs
1 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. vanilla

Mix first six ingredients with a fork, add boiling water, cover and sllow to sit until butter melts. Beat eggs and add with flour and vanilla to first mixture. Grease loaf pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour or until cake tester is clean.
