TOM CAKE 
3 c. flour
1 c. butter
1 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. nutmeg
1 c. blackberry jam
1 c. raisins
2 c. sugar
4 egg yolks
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
2 c. nuts

Bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes. Then lower heat to 325 degrees and bake for 1 hour and 15 minutes.

ICING:

2 c. light brown sugar
1/2 stick butter
1 c. cream
1 tsp. vanilla

Cook in double boiler 3 minutes after it bubbles. Beat and spread on cake. Cut one apple up and put around cake. Put in cake box. Let stay in box.
