JAM CAKE 
1 c. butter
2 c. sugar
4 c. flour
2 tsp. baking soda
1 c. buttermilk
2 c. jam, your choice
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. nuts; optional
1 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. allspice
2 tsp. cinnamon
2 tsp. cloves
6 eggs, beaten

Mix butter, sugar, and flour. Add beaten eggs. Mix buttermilk, soda, jam, vanilla, nuts, and spices; add to batter. Bake in three layer cake pans at 325 degrees for 50-55 minutes.
