SALISBURY STEAK 
2 strips bacon, diced
1 lb. hamburger meat
1 tbsp. onion, chopped
1/2 tsp. salt
Pepper
Cooking oil
1 tsp. green pepper, minced
4 tbsp. flour
1/2 can tomatoes
1 bay leaf
Salt and pepper to taste
1/2 tsp. celery salt or garlic salt
1 tsp. sugar
1/2 c. water

Mix first 5 ingredients together. Shape into 6 oval patties. Brown in hot cooking oil. Remove from pan; pour off grease, reserving 2 tablespoons.

SAUCE:

Chop 1 tablespoon onion. To make sauce, saute the onion and pepper in 2 tablespoons reserved grease. Stir in flour and brown. Add remaining ingredients, mix well. Add meat patties to pan. Simmer 45 minutes. Serves 6.
