WHOLEGRAIN CRUNCH COOKIES 
3/4 c. butter (no cholesterol)
1 c. firmly packed brown sugar
1/2 c. granulated sugar
1 egg or egg beaters equal to 1 egg
1/4 c. milk (2% or skimmed)
1 c. all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking soda
2 1/2 c. Quaker oats (Quick or Old fashioned) not cooked
3/4 c. wheat germ
1/2 c. chopped nuts (optional)

Beat together butter, sugars, egg, milk and vanilla. Add combined flour, salt and soda; mix well. Stir in oats, wheat germ and nuts. Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls onto greased cookie sheet; bake in preheated oven (375 degrees) for 10-12 minutes until light golden brown. Makes about 4 1/2 dozen.

Variations: Substitute 1 cup bran or bran cereal for wheat germ. Substitute 1/2 cup sunflower seed for nuts, add 1/2 cup raisins. Substitute raisins for nuts.
